Summer Update - Part 2

A quick update for those who do not like reading long posts in this digital age where everyone is begging for your attention : 😎

  • I am marrying my fiancé, Lynna, on November the 14th. I am very excited about this next step in life :)

  • I released a song called “Worth the Risk” on all streaming platforms. Listen here !

  • I have traveled to Colorado, Seattle, Virginia, & East TN since being back. Almost all of it was for work with Greater Europe Mission. We’ve had over 500 people inquire to serve with us since August. That number continues to grow.

  • The Ten2 Project Podcast has reached over 1,100 downloads! Click the link to listen to the latest episode.

  • I taught my first class and led my original song in chapel at my alma mater. The class was “Theology of Mission”. I really enjoyed it.

  • I am working on a few new film scores and some original music for short films. Very exciting things! Staying consistent with producing and learning more each day.

My good friend from this summer, Emma Hearn, wrote a blog post about this song, check that out on the Ten2 Project website by clicking right here!

I got to work with a producer on this song that I really look up to. It was so much fun!

10 things I learned about leadership this summer:

  1. If you want to make everyone happy, go sell ice cream. But even then, people will complain. Not the flavor they want, dairy free, sugar free, too expensive, opinions on taste, etc.

  2. It is important to take care of yourself while you lead. Saying “no” can be extremely life giving.

  3. We were not made to be the caretaker of more than 10 people. I will be giving much more grace to those in leadership from now on.

  4. A solid leader is wiling to get up before everyone and is willing to stay after everyone.

  5. A solid leader will go places and do things that others are not willing to go and do.

  6. A solid leader listens to the people they lead.

  7. A leader must pour into the ones they are leading. Discipleship/mentorship is key to the development of the people you are leading.

  8. When considering a model of leadership, there are three components that are important to consider. Lead, develop, care. All three must co-operate with one another.

  9. Sometimes you invite people along to join you on the journey, some will choose to stay. That is their decision. If they choose to miss out, it is not your burden to carry, but theirs.

  10. You cannot change anyone but yourself. Pray for your heart to change when you face someone difficult. The Lord will say yes to your prayer for heart change.
